Motion Picture

My films are visual experiments where the image flow and the cinematographic form is more important than the narrative. I like to call it “agricultural cinema”, because it belongs to those who feel the need to return to agriculture, as a common and ancestral human legacy, just like words, music and images. Usually shot with very high standards, with great care for composition, staging, sound and file compression.

 L'eredità di Caino

Freely inspired to Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s, Venus in fur, L’eredità di Caino (The Heritage of Cain) is the bold debut work of two young directors, Luca Acito and Sebastiano Montresor. This is an independent project that took a long time to make, and still in search of a possible distributor. Acito and Montresor have made an unusual filmic object, something in between video-art and theatre, proudly antinarrative, deliberately shocking and stodgy. The whole scene is set in a room with a chequered floor, where He (an extraordinary Filippo Timi) lends himself to the tortures of two women, the Lady and the Prostitute. Torture and humiliation become tools through which he lives his love and desire, because, as He says: ‘I can only love who is above me’. The Heritage is linear but at the same time fragmentary in its inner balance. The narrative structure is shrunk to the essential, made of small chapters that introduce characters and illustrate what will happen in a scene. However, the text is devoured by the anxiety of cruelty, and dwells in desire and in the executions taking place on the screen: they are shown for an unsustainable amount of time and become the emblematic bone structure of the film. The Heritage is a lopsided and dismembered body, where at times one can glimpse a search for grace and where violence becomes a scandalous act of love. The depth of this violence pushes us to an illustrious comparison with Salò, a film where sadism becomes political (violence as domination over the weak). Here, the inspiration for the film is the scandalous love for that violence. Salò is an orgy of bodies: here the bodies are completely removed, and very rarely they get to touch each other. The rotten wound exhales the nauseating stink of putrefaction: The Heritage is a merciless work exposing a fresh wound, the concupiscence for the non-alive life of the flesh under the scar.  Vigasiosexploitation vol.2

Space researcher Dr. Moreau, thanks to a lottery winning, manages to bring to Earth an alien who supposedly has a solution for the problem of desertification caused by the stopping of the terrestrial axis. The alien explains that on their planet, which is diametrically specular to the Earth, the indigenous population suffers from the opposite problem: an endless night. It emerges that the national lottery has been manipulated for years by the aliens, who finally get to open a gate and disembark onto the planet they want to conquer. The fecundating alien injects his semen in the body of Dr. Moreau’s assistant, thus giving birth to a new breed that carries genes capable of saving both planets. However, the biker Osso, the woman’s lover, kidnap her, causing the degeneration of the semen and the consequent metamorphosis of the assistant into a rabid dog. The dog’s insatiable hunger for human and alien flesh ignites a chain of furious violence.

The City calls K to settle an old smoky unfinished business. As soon as he gets there, the Gun tries to kill him, but K manages to escape and starts investigating an Anti-Smoke Centre, a complex and multi-layered organisation that forces its clients to quit smoking by having an Account follow and film them throughout their therapy. Meanwhile, Eszter, Kʼs only love, steals an extremely precious packet of HB cigarettes, but she falls into the hands of the Crazy Surgeon, who is in charge of creating the Accounts. K discovers that the Anti-Smoke Centre is in fact a criminal broadcasting organisation that sells the footage of its clients to rich and spoilt voyeurs; the whole thing is run by the film Director and the CEO who expose smokers to the Accounts, decreasing their need of nicotine by proportionally increasing their latent exhibitionism. After many tobaccohead vicissitudes, K catches the unsuspected man behind the Gun and decides to destroy the criminal gang of the ether, in a climax of violence, drama and sacrifice.
